The dating industry is a multi million pound industry and it's growing. The change in attitudes towards using a dating service makes it socially acceptable to find a date on the internet or at a speed dating event, it's no longer the reserve of the desperate, socially inept and geeks.
September and January are the biggest months in the dating industry calendar. If you join in one of these months you're likely to have the biggest and freshest pool of dates to choose from.

Traditionally the reserve of the 'on the shelf' and those still living with mum, these events have gained a fashionable new acceptability. Beware that not all singles holidays are for people looking for relationships, check with the operator before booking.
Introduction agencies
Never take the first price an introduction agency offers you, many will get back in touch with discounted offer if you don't sign up straightaway.
Internet dating
If you won't post a picture don't expect the best results. Don't be disappointed if your passionate virtual affair doesn't convert to chemistry in the flesh. Only arrange to meet for coffee at first to avoid a lengthy meal if they've been less than honest about their age and appearance.
